Monroe, Louisiana Police Department Upgrades to digiTICKET® eCitation to Improve Efficiency and Traffic Safety

Monroe Joins the Growing Number of Cities Gaining Productivity and Reducing Risks with digiTICKET

Tulsa, OK, Feb. 29, 2016 – Saltus Technologies™, provider of the industry-leading digiTICKET® eCitation solution, announced today that the Monroe, Louisiana, Police Department has successfully transitioned from handwritten citations to electronic ticketing with digiTICKET. The deployment is already benefiting the department and the public by eliminating manual errors and reducing the time spent on traffic stops.

digiTICKET enables officers to scan information directly from a violator’s driver’s license, which reduces missing data and improves data accuracy. Once data is entered in the system, it is automatically available for police records and court software. Having this information accessible streamlines the citation workflow and simplifies compiling violation statistics for analysis.

“The switch to digiTICKET benefits both officers and citizens,” said Sgt. Charles Johnson of the Monroe Police Department. “It improves the entire ticketing process while providing us with data on which violations are most common. We hope to use this data to educate the community and encourage safe driving.”

The City of Monroe’s digiTICKET deployment includes six units as part of an on-going evaluation of eCitation technology. Portable printers are available for each unit, so officers can print accurate tickets immediately during traffic stops. Monroe opted for the digiTICKET Solution as a Service (dSaaS) delivery method, which provides all hardware and software for one monthly subscription fee with no upfront costs.

The City of Monroe is the seat of Ouachita Parish and home to nearly 50,000 people. Monroe joins a growing number of Louisiana jurisdictions successfully using digiTICKET in their communities.

The digiTICKET product has developed a reputation as a very easy to use and reliable solution. Using handhelds, laptops, and tablets, Saltus users process over 750,000 citations each year for over 135 agencies in 15 states. The solution has proven to be a key contributing factor in increasing revenue by reducing errors, improving productivity and eliminating manual processes. Agencies have the choice to either purchase the system or acquire it using the digiTICKET Solution as a Service pricing option.
